Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan, Dominican
Profile: Medium
The Alec & Bradley Gatekeeper is the highly anticipated second release from brothers Alec and Bradley Rubin, marking a bold step forward in their evolution as second-generation cigar makers. To bring this visionary blend to life, the Rubin brothers partnered with none other than Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, the legendary “Godfather” of cigars, at his renowned Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic.
With the Gatekeeper, Alec and Bradley have symbolically “opened the gates” to a new era of blending—one defined by tradition, mentorship, and exploration. Under Perez-Carrillo’s guidance, the pair crafted a cigar that is at once classic and contemporary, featuring an expertly aged Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a rich Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
This medium-to-full-bodied blend delivers a complex and evolving flavor profile, offering deep notes of cedar, leather, roasted nuts, black pepper, and hints of cocoa. Construction is flawless, with a smooth draw, sharp burn, and elegant box-pressed presentation that reflects the premium nature of the collaboration.
