Backbone Bourbon Company reserves their Old Bones label for whiskey aged at least 10 years — and this expression has earned every year. Patiently and confidently aged, Old Bones 10 Year Rye is an elegant whiskey equally perfect for celebrating special occasions and treating yourself at the end of the day.
Full-bodied with a youthful personality that's beginning to reveal interesting secondary flavors, this batch is further elevated by finishing 20% of the whiskey in apera barrels (Australian sherry) — adding a concentrated sweetness that is balanced, nuanced, and deeply satisfying. One of the hallmarks of this release is exactly that: a sweetness that doesn't overwhelm, but anchors everything beautifully.
