Bumbu Craft Rum is a small-batch Caribbean rum blended from sugarcane rums sourced across eight countries, including Barbados, Belize, Brazil, and Guyana. It's aged up to 15 years in ex-bourbon barrels and handcrafted using a traditional 16th–17th-century Caribbean recipe, including signature native spices.
Typically bottled at around 35% ABV (70 proof), although regional markets may vary.

Nose
Rich aromas featuring Madagascar vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak. -

Medium-length, gently spicy and mildly sweet—notes of pepper, mint, and plum appear as it fades.
Style & Reception
-
Balanced Yet Rich
The recipe pays homage to West Indies rum traditions—keeping complexity and depth while remaining effortless on the palate. -
Audience & Criticism
It’s often praised for its approachability and smoothness. However, some rum purists criticize Bumbu as leaning more toward a flavored or specialty spirit rather than a classic rum. Still, it holds legal TTB classifications as both rum and rum specialty depending on the expression. -
Awards & Popularity
Bumbu has earned accolades, including multiple gold medals at the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition, and has gained cultural visibility through partnerships (e.g., with Lil Wayne’s XO edition).
