This structured and 'crystalline' sparkling wine originates from Spain, within the esteemed Cava D.O. appellation in the Requena sub-region (Valencia). Produced by Bodegas Murviedro a historic estate established in 1927 as the Spanish subsidiary of the Swiss Schenk Group Cava Murviedro Brut Nature highlights the unique high-altitude terroir of inland Valencia. Sourced from choice, sustainably farmed vineyards situated between 600 and 900 meters above sea level, the vines are rooted in nutrient-poor limestone, gravelly clay, and sandy soils. The region's continental-Mediterranean microclimate features intense daytime sunshine balanced by cool nightly mountain breezes, enabling classic white grape varieties to achieve full phenolic maturity while retaining a sharp, mouthwatering natural acidity.
Wine Description
The Cava Murviedro Brut Nature presents a luminous, pale straw-gold color in the glass with bright greenish-silver highlights and an exceptionally fine, persistent stream of energetic bubbles (mousse). Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering an elegant, bone-dry, and precisely focused portrait of high-altitude Spanish sparkling wine. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of green apple, yellow lemon zest, and crisp white peach, seamlessly layered with subtle underlays of freshly baked bread, toasted almond, orange blossom, and a distinct line of crushed limestone minerality. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and athletic, showcasing a vibrant core of crunchy orchard fruit, lemon peel, and creamy autolytic warmth. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that cuts cleanly through the mid-palate texture. The mouthfeel is weightless, supple, and creamy, carrying into an extraordinarily long, bone-dry, and mineral-driven finish free of added dosage sugars.
