Darroze 1992 Armagnac is a vintage French Armagnac selected by the Darroze family, known for preserving the individual character of mature eaux-de-vie from individual estates and vintages. Distilled in 1992, this mature expression develops a rich yet elegant profile of candied and dried fruits, citrus peel, warming spice and seasoned oak. Because several different Darroze 1992 estate bottlings exist, the specific estate, appellation and production details should be matched to the exact Alberta release before being assigned.
Food Pairing: Duck confit, foie gras, aged Comté, apricot tart, dried figs, walnut cake, crème brûlée, orange desserts, and dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Mature and elegant, combining candied and dried fruit with citrus, warming spice and developed oak.
Nose: Candied fruit, dates and prune with dried apricot, fig, vanilla and butterscotch.
Palate: Silky and expressive with orange peel, tangerine, mature fruit and gentle spice.
Finish: Long and refined with lingering citrus, dried fruit, spice and mature oak.
The tasting direction is supported by a Darroze 1992 bottling sold through , which describes dates, prune, apricot, fig, vanilla, butterscotch, orange peel and tangerine.
