First Editions Glengoyne 2008 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exceptional single-cask independent release bottled by Edition Spirits under their prestigious "The First Editions" series. Distilled in 2008 at the iconic Glengoyne Distillery—situated right on the Highland Line at Dumgoyne—this expression underwent patient maturation before being bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration or artificial coloring. Glengoyne's unpeated, slow-distilled spirit style shines through, delivering a rich and elegant profile brimming with green apples, sweet malted barley, floral honey, and gentle oak spice.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with roasted pork tenderloin with apple glaze, pan-seared duck breast, mild cheddar cheese, smoked trout, or almond tart.
Tasting Notes: A refined and balanced Highland single malt featuring crisp orchard fruit, sweet cereal malt, honeyed citrus, and soft oak woodiness.
Nose: Crisp green apples, floral honey, lemon oil, sweet malted barley, and soft vanilla oak.
Palate: Full-bodied and smooth on the palate with notes of buttered pastry, yellow plum, sweet cereal grain, vanilla bean, and light baking spice.
Finish: Long and clean with lingering notes of sweet malt, gentle citrus zest, and dry wood spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass or with a few drops of spring water to open up its complex fruity and floral layers.
