Kinsen Plum Wine is Takara’s California-made interpretation of ume-shu, built on a white-wine base with ume-inspired natural flavors. The producer’s current exact variant explicitly binds UPC 086395350005 to one 750ml bottle at 12% ABV (24 proof) and identifies Berkeley, California, as the production location. Takara notes that the current label is a cosmetic redesign and that the wine itself remains unchanged. The inspected official image shows the complete current bottle, red screw cap, golden wine, Kinsen Plum name, and Takara Sake USA attribution.
Takara describes the wine as tart and sweet, with aromas of violet candy, plum, and maraschino cherry. The palate is described as medium bodied and lightly tangy, with ripe plum, red cherry, and sweet pear. It may be served straight, on the rocks, or mixed with soda, lemon, and fruit juice over ice; the producer also suggests enjoying it with cheese, fruit tarts, or pies. This listing is for one bottle, not the supplier’s wholesale twelve-bottle case.
