Michter's US1 Sour Mash Whiskey
A legendary expression that defies traditional categorization. Neither bourbon nor rye, Michter's US1 Sour Mash stands apart with its unique grain selection and distinctive flavor profile that made it the distillery's most popular whiskey during the 1970s and '80s.
After disappearing from shelves in 1989, this beloved whiskey made its triumphant return in 2012, staying true to the original recipe that captivated enthusiasts decades ago. The sour mash process—using previously fermented mash as a starter, similar to sourdough bread—creates remarkable depth and consistency.
Expect rich notes of caramel, vanilla, and baking spice with a smooth, approachable finish that showcases Michter's commitment to quality and tradition. A versatile whiskey that's equally at home neat, on the rocks, or in classic cocktails.
Perfect for those who appreciate American whiskey heritage and distinctive character beyond conventional categories.
