Old Forester 1870 Original Batch
A tribute to resilience and innovation. In October 1870, a fire ravaged the Old Forester distillery, destroying three of the four warehouses. Rather than accept defeat, founder George Garvin Brown salvaged what remained—whiskey from the surviving warehouse—and blended it with new distillate to create a bourbon that would carry the brand forward.
This expression honors that pivotal moment in bourbon history. Old Forester 1870 Original Batch recreates the character of that emergency blend: a combination of mature bourbon with younger whiskey, resulting in a unique flavor profile that balances depth with vibrancy. Expect rich caramel and vanilla layered with bright fruit notes, baking spice, and a hint of char, finishing with a smooth warmth that tells the story of perseverance.
Part of the acclaimed Whiskey Row Series, 1870 Original Batch celebrates the moments that defined Old Forester's legacy—when adversity sparked creativity and produced something exceptional.
Perfect for bourbon enthusiasts who appreciate history in a glass and those seeking a distinctive expression that stands apart from standard releases.
