Founded in 1923 in Alba, Piedmont, Prunotto is a historic winery that has played a significant role in the region's viticultural heritage. In 1989, the estate became part of the renowned Marchesi Antinori family, bringing together traditional Piedmontese winemaking with innovative approaches. The Mompertone vineyard, located in the Monferrato area, is known for its calcareous clay soils interspersed with sandy veins, contributing to the wine's distinctive character.
Wine Description
Prunotto Mompertone is a blend of Barbera and Syrah, showcasing a deep ruby red hue with purple reflections. The nose is expressive, offering aromas of cherries, forest floor, spices, vanilla, and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is rich and velvety, with a persistent and harmonious profile. Supple, elegant tannins provide structure, while the balanced acidity ensures freshness.
