Thomas S. Moore Madeira Cask Finish Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon given an extended finish in Madeira casks. Bottled at 48.25% ABV (96.5 proof) in a 750 mL format, it retains its straight-bourbon identity while gaining another layer through wine-cask maturation. The secondary finish is the defining production detail, bringing the bourbon and the character of the finishing barrel into one focused expression.
On the nose, it offers oak and Madeira wine, followed by tobacco, citrus, and dried fruit. The palate carries the aromatic profile forward with measured sweetness and acidity, while the oak keeps the wine influence structured. Dried-fruit depth, bright citrus, and a gentle tobacco note build into a balanced finish that joins bourbon warmth with the cask’s vinous character. The result is a cask-finished bourbon whose aroma, palate, and finish are shaped by a clearly identified wine-barrel treatment without obscuring its Kentucky straight bourbon identity.
