The Vaporesso XTank T MTL Vape Tank is designed specifically for vapers who prefer a mouth-to-lung experience. This tank caters to both newcomers transitioning from smoking and experienced users who enjoy a tighter, more restricted draw. MTL vaping typically offers better flavour concentration and lower e-liquid consumption compared to direct lung styles — making it an economical choice for daily use.
The design focuses on simplicity. No complicated settings or confusing features. Just straightforward MTL performance that works consistently. And for those who value convenience, the top-fill system means you won't need to disassemble the entire tank just to add e-liquid.
Authentic mouth-to-lung experience
MTL vaping mimics the draw resistance of traditional cigarettes. You pull vapour into your mouth first, then inhale to your lungs — exactly how most people smoked. The Vaporesso XTank T MTL Vape Tank is built around this vaping style.
The airflow adjustment lets you fine-tune the draw resistance. Want it tighter? Close down the airflow. Prefer something slightly more open? Adjust accordingly. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach, which matters because everyone's preferences differ slightly.
Most MTL tanks work best with higher resistance coils (usually above 0.8Ω). These coils operate at lower wattages, which translates to cooler vapour and less battery drain. You'll also use less e-liquid per day — sometimes half the amount compared to sub-ohm vaping.
Top-fill design and daily use
Nobody wants to wrestle with their tank every time it needs refilling. The top-fill mechanism on the XTank T simplifies the process considerably.
Unscrew the top cap. Fill through the designated port. Screw it back on. That's it. The design minimises mess and reduces the chances of e-liquid ending up on your hands or device.
Leak prevention matters more than people realise. A poorly sealed tank can leak e-liquid into your pocket or bag — not ideal. The Vaporesso XTank T uses standard sealing methods common in quality MTL tanks, though like any tank, proper assembly and coil installation are essential.
Who should consider this tank?
Former smokers often prefer MTL tanks. The draw feels familiar, and the throat hit (that slight catch in your throat when you inhale) resembles what they're used to. If you're switching from cigarettes, an MTL setup makes more sense than jumping straight into cloud-chasing territory.
Experienced vapers who enjoy flavour-focused vaping also gravitate towards MTL. The restricted airflow and lower power concentrate flavour compounds rather than diluting them with excessive airflow. You taste more nuance, particularly with complex e-liquid profiles.
And there's the practical side. MTL vaping is discreet. You're not producing massive clouds that draw attention in public spaces. The vapour production is modest — enough to satisfy but not enough to fog up a room.
E-liquid compatibility
The Vaporesso XTank T MTL Vape Tank pairs best with higher nicotine strengths and higher PG ratios. Higher PG e-liquids (50/50 or 60/40 PG/VG) are thinner and wick more efficiently in MTL coils. They also provide a stronger throat hit, which many former smokers prefer. Nicotine salts work particularly well in MTL setups — you can use higher concentrations (10-20mg) without harsh, unpleasant hits.
Can you use high-VG liquids? Technically yes, but thicker liquids may not wick as efficiently in tighter MTL coils. Stick with thinner liquids for best results.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Vaporesso XTank T suitable for beginners?
Yes, it's well-suited for newcomers, particularly those transitioning from smoking. The MTL draw mimics cigarette smoking, making the switch feel more natural. The simple top-fill design and straightforward coil replacement don't require prior vaping knowledge.
What type of e-liquid works best with this tank?
Higher PG e-liquids (50/50 or 60/40 PG/VG ratio) perform best in MTL tanks. These thinner liquids wick efficiently in tighter coils and provide better throat hit. Nicotine salts in 10-20mg strengths are particularly popular for MTL vaping.
How often do I need to replace the coils?
Coil longevity varies based on e-liquid type and usage frequency. Typically, MTL coils last one to two weeks. Sweet, high-VG liquids shorten coil life, whilst clearer, higher-PG liquids extend it. When you notice muted flavour or a burnt taste, it's time to change the coil.
What's the difference between MTL and DTL vaping?
MTL (mouth-to-lung) involves drawing vapour into your mouth first, then inhaling — like smoking a cigarette. DTL (direct-to-lung) means inhaling vapour directly into your lungs in one breath. MTL offers tighter draw, better flavour concentration, and lower vapour production compared to DTL.
Is this tank compatible with all mods?
The XTank T uses a standard 510 connection, which fits most vape mods. However, you'll need a device capable of firing the coil resistance you're using (typically 0.8Ω or higher for MTL). Most modern regulated mods handle this range without issue.
